Inspection & Testing

Inspection and Testing

Each year some 28,000 fires are started through faulty electrical wiring and accessories causing more than 2500 deaths and injuries.

Getting your electrical wiring and appliances tested will ensure you are safe from the dangers of electrical shock and potential risk of fire and also ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1989.

Upon completion of tests carried out by ourselves you will receive an individually numbered, certificate.

This certificate proves that your electrical wiring is safe to use and is also recognised by insurance companies, banks and building societies as proof of safe wiring and compliance with relevant safety acts.

What is a periodic inspection?

A periodic inspection carried out by a competent electrician is an inspection to determine the condition of an electrical installation. The purpose is to identify, so far as reasonably practicable, any factors impairing the safety of the electrical installation, and to make appropriate recommendations for remedial action. LoGiK Services Ltd will issue a periodic inspection report, which is a report on an existing electrical installation.

LoGiK Services Ltd will check the electrical installation against the current edition of BS 7671 as amended.

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
These regulations impose health and safety requirements with respect to electricity used at work. General duties are imposed to ensure that all electrical systems have been properly constructed, maintained and are used in such a way so as not to give rise to danger.

Electrical Installations

The Institute of Electrical Engineers Wiring Regulations, which have been adopted as a British Standard, require that all fixed installations be tested for safety at least once every 5 years unless they fall into the categories as stated below.

Logik services Ltd can carry out these tests. We will provide you with a written report in the form of a Completion certificate which states when, in their professional opinion, your electrical installation should next be tested and examined.
