DDA

From 1st of October 2004 all service providers have a legal obligation to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act.

Under the DDA "service providers" include companies that offer goods, facilities or services in the UK to the public i.e

  • Shops, Hotels, Restaurants, Estate Agents and Managing Agents
  • Local Authority Services, Colleges and Universities
  • Cinemas, Theatres and Travel Agents
  • Banks, Insurance Companies, Railway and Bus Stations
  • Health Services including Hospitals and GPs
  • Courts, Solicitors, Advice and Information Services

The various solutions, which we are able to provide to avoid discrimination, range from Disabled Toilet Alarms to Hearing Induction Loop Systems for the hearing impaired. This depends on the type of service you provide and the layout of the building.

We are also able to carry out any remedial building works which may be required to comply, i.e. widening of doors and fitting of access ramps.

In short, as DDA specialists we are able to carry out a free risk assessment of your building and advise you on the best course of action to comply. Install the equipment to ensure complinace with the DDA.
